ENFIT - INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION

As the first international association, ENFIT develops european and international standards for more security and transparency in the supply chain. If you are interested, request the first international "ENFIT Guideline - Transport of unpackaged raw materials and food in transport containers".

Raw materials for chemicals, food or animal feed are transported worldwide from primary production (agriculture and livestock, mining and oil production) to primary production (dairy, grain and seed mills) and from there on to secondary production (manufacturing of end products for consumers). .

While the focus is on product quality and transport safety (transport of dangerous goods) when transporting chemicals, when transporting food and animal feed it is primarily a question of meeting hygiene requirements and, secondarily, of preventing cross-contamination with viruses, bacteria, salmonella, plastic granules or allergens in focus.

The transport containers, silos, road tankers, IBCs, pallets, crates and trolleys used for this, as well as the vehicles used for transport, must meet the technical and hygienic requirements and be suitable.

To maintain high product quality and to prevent cross-contamination, the transport units must be cleaned and disinfected regularly in compliance with international ENFIT standards.

With its members and stakeholders, ENFIT has the entire know-how of all processes in the supply chain and, with its work, creates an effective know-how transfer between the stakeholders involved.

Our vision: A secure, reliable and traceable supply chain

Food Defense
