HOYER Group joins Germany’s Federal Emergency Transport Network

On 10 February, the Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) formally presented the certificate of participation to Chief Executive Officer Björn Schniederkötter.
Acting on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Transport, BALM oversees cross-modal coordination for civil emergency preparedness. Its remit is to safeguard the supply of essential goods to the public, industry and the armed forces in times of crisis.
In such circumstances, BALM relies on the Federal Transport Organisation (TOB) — a nationwide alliance of more than 1,100 transport and logistics firms that have pledged operational support when required.
By incorporating HOYER into the network, the organisation gains a globally active specialist in the movement of liquid cargoes.
Christian Hoffmann, President of BALM, highlighted the strategic importance of the addition, noting that HOYER brings extensive expertise in transporting liquids for the food, gas, mineral oil and chemical sectors. He described the company’s multimodal capabilities as a vital asset for strengthening Germany’s crisis resilience and maintaining security of supply.
Schniederkötter reaffirmed the company’s commitment to reliability and safety, stating that HOYER would contribute its international reach and intermodal know-how to ensure the continuity of supplies during exceptional situations. As an independent, family-owned enterprise, he said, the group recognises its broader societal responsibility, particularly in times of national need.
Hoffmann said: “By adding the HOYER Group, we gain a highly competent logistics partner for transporting liquid goods for the food, gas, mineral oil, and chemical industries with a multimodal orientation.
“The support provided by the HOYER Group represents a key contribution to proactive crisis preparedness and to strengthening supply security in Germany.”
