ISOPA updates logistics guidelines

ISOPA, the European trade association for producers of diisocyanates and polyols, has published updated guidelines (5th edition) for the safe loading/unloading, transport and storage of TDI and MDI.
While the previous (4th) edition focused on enhancing communication between drivers and operators, the new edition places greater emphasis on the crucial role of site operators during the unloading process.
The safe transport of diisocyanates is essential both to people and its manufacturers, ISOPA stated. All participants in the supply chain, the manufacturers of MDI/TDI, the transport company and the receiver of the products play vital roles in ensuring that accidents and incidents are prevented.
ISOPA says it remains committed to raising standards continuously and to ensuring maximum protection of health and safety and a consistent, industry-wide approach.
"Our updated guidelines put these commitments into practice and to ensure the highest levels of safety in the transport of our chemicals," the association said.
