Tank cleaning expansion

In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Laem Chabang, Thailand, the company’s network partner cotac has completed extensive enhancements to its depots.
These upgrades strengthen HOYER and cotac’s presence in strategically important Asia-Pacific logistics hubs and expand the value-added service portfolio available to international customers in the chemical, gas and food industries.
The infrastructure improvements also lay the groundwork for increased operational performance and future growth.
Ho Chi Minh City: Modernisation and expansion
At the Ho Chi Minh City site, cotac has invested heavily in upgrading the existing facility.
A modern office building now provides additional space for future expansion, while the depot’s capacity has grown to over 1,000 tank containers.
“Vietnam is currently one of our strongest-performing locations worldwide – both in terms of economic development and operational performance,” said Rickard Gonera, managing director of cotac Asia.
“We have established ourselves as a reliable partner, particularly in the field of specialised cleaning, and we are able to handle demanding products such as MDI, TDI and latex in a professionally correct way.”
To maintain high-quality standards, ongoing staff training is complemented by close collaboration with the cotac site in Singapore.
Looking ahead, a dedicated safety representative in Ho Chi Minh City will oversee additional processes, ensuring operations remain safe, efficient and compliant.
Laem Chabang: Boosting capacity and services
Simultaneously, the Laem Chabang depot in Thailand underwent significant expansion.
Depot capacity increased from 900 to 1,600 tank containers, while cleaning processes and workshop areas were further developed to meet growing customer requirements.
The Laem Chabang team specialises in tank modifications for European customers and is preparing for future demands in specialised cleaning.
“With the expansions in Vietnam and Thailand, we are responding to the growing importance of these locations in the Asia-Pacific region and reaffirming our commitment to the market,” added Gonera.
“cotac stands for flexibility, quality and solution-oriented service – even for individual customer requirements.”
A commitment to safety and training
Both sites benefit from cotac’s rigorous approach to staff training and safety. Training programmes are global standards, ensuring staff are equipped to manage complex chemical and food products safely.
This commitment extends to internal know-how, cleaning processes and technical services, all of which ensure smooth, efficient and sustainable transport logistics for HOYER and its customers worldwide.
At Ho Chi Minh City, the introduction of a dedicated safety representative highlights the focus on operational excellence and process optimisation. Similar standards are maintained at Laem Chabang, reflecting cotac’s global emphasis on quality and safety across all locations.
Meeting growing customer demands
The enhancements at both sites allow HOYER and cotac to respond more effectively to increasing customer needs.
By expanding depot capacities and upgrading facilities, the companies can accommodate more tank containers and tankers while offering specialised services that meet stringent international standards.
For example, the Ho Chi Minh City site can now manage demanding chemical products with precision and safety, while Laem Chabang is prepared to perform specialised cleaning and modifications for European clients.
These capabilities provide international customers with reliable, high-quality services, reinforcing HOYER’s reputation as a trusted logistics partner.
Global integration and standards
cotac is an integral part of the HOYER Group’s full-service portfolio.
With 12 locations across Europe, Asia and the US, cotac ensures consistent quality standards and seamless operations throughout the supply chain.
All depots operate under rigorous quality audits, including DIN EN ISO 9001 and country-specific safety standards.
Staff training and internal expertise in cleaning processes are global standards, enabling cotac to deliver comprehensive services for a wide range of products.
Technical services offered by cotac guarantee safe, efficient, and sustainable logistics solutions worldwide, supporting HOYER’s broader commitment to reliability, flexibility and operational excellence.
Preparing for the future
The recent expansions in both those Asian countries represent a strategic move for HOYER and cotac, positioning the companies to meet the growing demands of the Asia-Pacific logistics market.
By increasing depot capacity, enhancing cleaning and workshop facilities, and investing in staff training and safety, the partners are ready to support international customers with greater efficiency and professionalism.
Gonera concluded: “Our investments demonstrate that we are committed to the region and our customers.
“cotac combines flexibility, quality and solution-oriented service, ensuring that even individual customer requirements are met to the highest standard.”
