Tank container storage and depot services expanded in Saudi Arabia
All of Stolt’s cleaning stations comply with local government regulations, with health, safety and wastewater management as key priorities.
Its expanding network of cleaning stations operate with local joint venture partners to provide “one-stop-shopping” services to its customers.
Middle East expansion
Stolt Tank Containers has responded to the growing demand for tank container storage and depot services in Saudi Arabia by opening two new depots in Jubail (100,000m2) and Dammam, as well as enlarging its existing depot in Jeddah. With tank containers being used to move over 500,000 tonnes of bulk liquid petrochemicals and refined petroleum products within and from the country, Saudi Arabia’s tank container industry is the largest in the Middle East. Increasing production of specialty chemicals means demand in the region is continuing to grow.
Customers that own their own tanks can take advantage of Stolt’s cleaning, storage, refurbishing, testing, maintenance and repair services at any of the company’s depots.
Jubail Kanoo Tank Services depot lies in the heart of the Jubail industrial area and provides full ISO Tanks services including on hire-off hire, cleaning of all products including isocyanates (MDI/TDI), latex and other resins.
It also provides full frame and shell repairs and tank modification, full nitrogen services, heating, laden storage (with containment tanks), reefer services and statutory testing.
WWTP and scrubber systems ensure the highest environmental standards are maintained. Technical and emergency response is also available.
The Jubail facility is supported and complimented by the new Dammam facility and the newly expanded Jeddah Depot, giving full ISO Tank Services across the country with a cleaning capacity of 2,000 tanks per month.
A Stolt spokesman said: “Increasing production of speciality chemicals means demand in the region is continuing to grow.
These three dedicated depots mean Stolt Tank Containers now has strategically located facilities serving the oil, gas and petrochemical industries on both the east and west coasts of the Arabian Peninsula. “While the Jubail and Dammam depots are perfectly positioned for freight transportation via the Persian Gulf, the Jeddah depot facilitates shipments via the Red Sea.”
