Withofs acquires Weltens

Withofs is thus strengthening its presence in the Benelux and Germany, as well as expanding its fleet and network in tank, bulk and ISO container trucking services.
The combined fleet has a size of 80 tractor units and more than 110 pieces of towed equipment, including ADR tankers, bulk trailers and chassis for ISO tank containers and bulk containers.
Weltens has a strong reputation in tank transport. The locations in Geleen, near Maastricht, and Herzogenrath are in the region of various customers and a valuable addition to the existing Withofs branches in Lanaken, Antwerp and Zeebrugge.
The integration of Weltens allows Withofs to serve its customers in Benelux, Germany and Northern France even better with regional transport solutions.
This not only offers logistical advantages, but also extra capacity and flexibility for both existing and new customers.
The acquisition contributes to reducing empty kilometres and maximising the occupancy of rides.
By co-ordinating routes and flows better within the extensive network, a more sustainable and cost-efficient logistics operation can be created. This fits in with the sustainability strategy of Withofs and Weltens.
Both companies are family businesses with a strong focus on reliability, quality and long-term co-operation.
They serve the chemical industry and that of building materials, additives and emulsions across the board. After a thorough exploration period, it turned out that both companies share the same values and vision for the future.
The daily activities at Weltens, will continue unchanged under the current leadership of Rene Hulsbosch.
Over the coming period, teams from the two companies will be presented to each other, and then work together on a smooth integration and further development of joint growth plans.
