High standards for tank cleaning

news item image
The ECC-ENFIT Cleaning Certificate® and ENFIT HQF Certification, powered by ENFIT GID® and bulkvision Blockchain Cloud technology, are driving digital transformation in tank cleaning - making paper and clipboards obsolete while enhancing safety and transparency.
As a global organisation, ENFIT develops comprehensive guidelines and standards for the safe and hygienic transport of food, feed, chemicals and hazardous materials.
Covering the entire supply chain - from the technical suitability of transport units, loading and transport, to unloading, cleaning, disinfection, traceability and digitilisation - ENFIT also addresses food-, feed- and chemical defence.
ENFIT focuses on a variety of transport units, including road tankers, silo vehicles, tank containers, IBCs, rail tank cars, refrigerated trucks, container trucks, reefer containers and specialised agricultural vehicles.
International outlook
The organisation actively represents its international members by collaborating with national and global regulatory bodies, such as the European Commission, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR), WHO, and the US FDA, as well as Jewish rabbinates (for Kosher cleaning) and various Halal organisations to ensure adherence to specific cleaning requirements.
In addition to working with chemical and logistics associations, BAM and ADR committees, ENFIT's membership spans logistics companies, transport operators, cleaning stations, depots, inspection bodies, workshops, manufacturers of cleaning technologies and chemicals, and certification and consulting firms.
Partners include GMP+ International (feed), the German Federal Association of Food Controllers (BVLK), Die Alimentaren, EQA-Education and Qualification Alliance, Blockchain-Europe, bulkvision, BA-Sachsen-University and several more.
What’s new at ENFIT?
ENFIT has recently published its first international guideline for the transport of unpackaged raw materials, food and feed in transport containers.

ENFIT cleaning standards
In conjunction with this guideline, ENFIT has established cleaning protocols for food, feed, KOSHER and Halal requirements. More information can be found at enfit.eu.
ENFIT HQF certification
ENFIT's three-stage HQF Certification process ensures that cleaning stations meet the highest standards of training, organisation and technology. Stations that achieve Kosher or Halal certification comply with the stringent requirements set by religious authorities. Certified stations are authorised to display the ENFIT logo, confirming their compliance with international hygiene protocols.
ENFIT bulkvision and the ECC-ENFIT Cleaning Certificate®
ENFIT bulkvision AI-Cloud technology enables cleaning stations to issue the world’s first tamper-proof, blockchain-secured international ECC-ENFIT Cleaning Certificate®. This certificate verifies that all cleaning operations meet ENFIT’s energy-optimised (Clean Deal) standards and are conducted with high quality and transparency. Depending on the level of compliance, stations receive one of four quality seals - Basic, Basic plus, high or Excellent, which is reflected in the ECC-ENFIT Cleaning Certificate®.
ENFIT bulkvision AI-cloud technology and global GID (ITEM-ID)
By adopting ENFIT’s digitalisation strategy, paper-based processes and transcription errors are eliminated.
The bulkvision AI software ensures real-time, tamper-proof traceability for all events in the supply chain. This secure, digital record provides complete transparency to all participants in logistics, transport, loading, unloading, cleaning, depot, inspection, and repair processes - both upstream and downstream.
ENFIT GID – Global ITEM-ID
As the first authorised organisation to develop the global ENFIT GID (ITEM-ID) standard, ENFIT enables the digital identification of transport units. With the integration of bulkvision AI-Software, ENFIT GID becomes a real-time communication tool between transport unit owners and service partners. These units can be tracked globally at Points of Interest (POI) without requiring expensive GPS trackers, SIM cards or batteries.
Customisable checklists, inspection reports, spare parts lists and seal plans are incorporated into the digital twin of the transport unit. Critical information, such as loading and unloading reports, digital transfer of delivery notes, safety data sheets and scannable safety seals is accessible anytime, anywhere. This seamless digital integration allows for smooth check-in and check-out processes at loading, unloading and cleaning stations, significantly reducing paperwork and waiting times.
ENFIT THR-analysis: A new standard for hygiene risk management
Another ground-breaking development is the ENFIT THR-Analysis (Transport Hygiene Risk Analysis), a tool designed to assess hygiene risks at every stage of the transport process. By systematically identifying and addressing potential contamination sources, companies can ensure that their operations meet the highest hygiene standards.
Key benefits of the ENFIT THR-Analysis:
Optimised Risk Identification: The THR-Analysis identifies specific hygiene risks, allowing companies to proactively manage and mitigate these threats, improving safety across the entire transport process.
Contamination prevention: By addressing risks before they become issues, companies reduce the likelihood of contamination, ensuring product integrity and quality.
Comprehensive documentation: The THR-Analysis provides detailed records of hygiene risks and preventive measures.
Tailored solutions: The analysis is flexible and can be adapted to different transport units and cargo types, making it suitable for both small and large operators.
The benefits of digital integration
The advantages of ENFIT’s digital innovations are clear - transcription errors are minimised, waiting times are reduced and language barriers are overcome. Stressful situations for truck drivers, who often face the burden of filling out various registration forms at cleaning stations are significantly reduced. With the GID QR code, drivers can fill out forms on their smartphones during unloading or breaks and avoid the rush when arriving at cleaning stations. A simple scan of the code and they are ready to proceed.
These integrated solutions - combining the THR-Analysis, AI technology and the ECC-ENFIT Cleaning Certificate® - are revolutionising the industry. They provide a higher level of hygiene, transparency and efficiency - ensuring a safer and more reliable global supply chain.
