Hoyer delivery marks a first for carbon logistics in Europe

The first HOYER CO2 ISO container carrying liquefied biogenic CO₂ has successfully arrived in Esbjerg, Denmark, marking a new chapter for carbon logistics in Europe.
The container was unloaded at the Greensand terminal, marking the start of regular cross-border CCS operations.
The project connects CO2 captured in Switzerland with permanent offshore storage in Denmark, demonstrating how complex international CO2 value chains can be implemented safely and reliably.
As the logistics partner, HOYER links capture and liquefaction, transport, and storage through a multimodal supply chain designed to support emerging carbon management solutions.
Backed by more than 40 years of CO₂ logistics expertise, we are proud to contribute to this milestone together with CO2 Energie AG, Airfix and INEOS Energy Project Greensand.
This achievement is another important step toward making carbon capture and storage a scalable reality across Europe.
