Den Hartogh opens logistics service centre in Port of Antwerp

Logistics provider Den Hartogh has opened a logistics cluster service in the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, following the success of a similar centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The new service centre, located in the heart of Antwerp’s chemical industry, will help secure customer supply chains by road, rail or barge.

The company will offer the following services at the Antwerp location: drop/swap, load and unload services; tank container shunting services; container storage services; intermediate parking; tank heating; and equipment check.

According to Den Hartogh, advantages for customers include large depot availability, good accessibility, as well as efficient and smart loading and delivery options, thanks to local trucking capacity.

Clustering services improve the efficiency of tank container flows moving in and out of the area for the chemical industry, as well as minimising truck mileage within the Port of Antwerp.
