Tanker driver vacancies increasing, says UKIFDA
A recent survey of UK and Ireland Fuel Distribution Association (UKIFDA) members revealed that staff turnover and vacancies were manageable but that they were increasing.
The industry has historically had a low level of non-UK passport holders as drivers, UKIFDA said.
As in previous years the organisation also said it will soon launch its Get Winter Ready campaign urging consumers to order heating oil ahead of the winter period.
The organisation said it would like to reassure people that its members will do everything they can to get deliveries of heating oil out to customers, but it wanted consumers to be prepared and to plan ahead so that they can stay warm when the cold winter season arrives.
