Masterbulk acquires SDC-Trans and accelerates growth in tanker transport
This strategic acquisition further strengthens Masterbulk’s position in the bulk transport sector and supports its continued expansion strategy.
SDC-Trans will represent a complementary addition to its existing activities.
While Masterbulk is primarily specialised in the transport of chemical bulk products, SDC-Trans has built a strong reputation in the transport of bulk waste materials.
The company operates a fleet of approximately 20 owned trucks, around 70 tipper and walking floor trailers, a team of about 20 drivers and manages approximately 30 subcontractors daily.
Over the past 20 years, SDC-Trans has developed into a reliable and flexible logistics partner, known for its efficiency and quality of service.
Operations will continue to be managed from the existing site in Deinze. Founder Stijn De Corte will remain actively involved and responsible for the day-to-day management, ensuring continuity for customers, employees and partners.
Filip Slock, CEO of Masterbulk, explained: “This acquisition represents an important step in our growth strategy. The waste segment offers strong prospects, driven in part by increasing attention to sustainability and the circular economy.
“By combining our strengths, we can offer a broader and more efficient service to our customers while reinforcing our market position.”
Stijn De Corte added: “Joining Masterbulk opens up new growth opportunities for SDC-Trans. We benefit from economies of scale and a stronger market position, while maintaining our flexibility and expertise.
“This combination creates clear added value for both customers and employees.”
The integration of SDC-Trans within the Masterbulk group will create synergies in fleet management, operational efficiency and commercial activities. At the same time, both entities will continue to develop their own expertise and market focus.
