Stolt-Nielsen appoints new president of tankers business

Logistics provider Stolt-Nielsen has announced the appointment of Lucas Vos to the role of president of Stolt Tankers, effective from 11 October 2019.

Vos succeeds Mark Martecchini, who will take over management of the division’s shipowning team, and will continue to be responsible for Stolt Tankers’ business ongoing business transformation programme.

“The appointment of Lucas Vos while maintaining Mark Martecchini’s experience and deep knowledge of our operations ensures a smooth transition in the management team of Stolt Tankers,” commented Niels G. Stolt-Nielsen, CEO of the company. “Lucas’s background in shipping combined with his digital transformation experience from Royal FloraHolland will ensure we maintain our leading position in the industry.”

Vos worked for Nedlloyd Lines for 12 years in various management roles, until the company became part of global shipping line Maersk. Between 2008 and 2013 he remained at Maersk Line in Denmark, where he was an executive board member, responsible for IT, HR, strategy and the company’s global service centres. Most recently he held the position of chief commercial officer at Maersk Line.

In 2014, Vos returned to the Netherlands in his role of CEO at Royal FloraHolland, where he was responsible for the creation and launch of a new digital ecosystem strategy.
