Successful flour millers expands tanker fleet

Whitworth Bros has made a new addition to its ever expanding fleet.
The East Midlands flour millers took delivery of its latest tanker bringing to 20 new additions this year.
The company manufactures a wide range of wheat, maize, rice and rye flour and uses its delivery fleet to transport the products.
Whitworth Bros operates from sites in Peterborough, Wellingborough, Nottingham, Silloth and Kirkcaldy in the UK.
The firm has also been investing in green technology as well as operating an eco-friendly delivery fleet using the latest Euro 6 engines.
Wellingborough-based company has reported a turnover of £436.9m for the 12 months to 31 March 2020 - up from £397.8m.
Whitworth Bros was established in 1886 and is now known for its distinctive yellow tanker fleet.
A statement by the board said: “The significant year-on-year increase in turnover reflects the annual impact of the two milling sites acquired part way through the prior year, with the increase in profitability due to a better balance of customer requirements and production across the group, improved sales mix and new business wins in targeted sectors.”
