Van den Bosch enhances supply chain connectivity with FreightInsight

Intermodal transport specialist Van den Bosch has enhanced its supply chain connectivity services by introducing FreightInsight, an online portal that provides customers with real-time information on the actual status of loads.

The portal offers access to additional information, such as the expected time of arrival, previous loads and loading reports.

“With FreightInsight we meet the growing need for traceability, transparency and connectivity in the supply chain,” said Pirke van den Elsen, manager of business development at Van den Bosch, who was actively involved in developing and introducing the online customer portal.

He continued: “Everyone wants to know what is happening to his or her order. That is the same in bulk transport. Thanks to FreightInsight, our customers have real time insight into their logistic flows. They can simply follow the actual status of their orders via a personal dashboard, as well as the expected and actual time of arrival. Moreover, they have access to additional information, such as previous loads, payload, loading and unloading weight, temperature and nonconformities.”

FreightInsight was developed as part of the Transforming Logistics Together campaign, under which the company has introduced a package of additional logistic services, including FreightInsight’s track and trace information.

“It is our ambition to not only provide these data, but also make them available for further integration in our customers’ logistic systems,” van den Elsen added. “We call this ‘Track & Connect’. This is how we create connectivity and transparency in the supply chain together with our customers and their partners as well.”
